We came into the second part of Willy Monroe's MMC Living Room Lecture wondering how anyone would be able to match last week’s epic Part 1. All we can say is, Willie didn’t meet last weeks standard: he topped it!

Yo Yo Yo! We began the evening with an appetizer featuring a full stage performance of Willies practical and magical ‘Signed Card to cut and restored Yo Yo’, which Willie used as a launch point for a fascinating look at a one-of-a-kind creative process.

Then, Willie launched this lecture like a rocket ship as he introduced us to an easy, to do one handed approach to the Curry Turnover Change created by Fred Roner (see bio below). Watching Willie perform this change left us all slackjawed with amazement - it’s easy, it’s completely invisible and as we discovered…the move itself was only the beginning.

Father’s Gathering - a Breath-taking Assembly - Willie shared a visual four king assembly with a knockout finale production of an entire suit of cards!

Then we were treated to a true onslaught of visual magic, including visual transformations, transpositions and arial color changes. We discovered easy ways to make miracle class card magic - and discovered untapped secrets from one of the underground's best kept masters of magic.

Gabriel Moreno’s Out of This Universe - CC’s Living Room Lectures allow our masterful guests to share intimate secrets and lessons you won’t find on the major platforms, and in this lecture you will see why. Willie performed and taught a pet miracle taught to him as the protégé of one of Spain’s greatest card experts, Gabriel Moreno. Spectator’s call the order of each round dealt through the entire deck - 52 cards and 52 choices - and as you will see but never believe - Willie uses a combination of 4rth, 3rd and 2nd deals to allow all the members of the audience to completely separate the deck into four suits…each one in Ace to King Order. It was breath-taking - and once you understand the secret, you’ll see that actually doing it in the real world is no pipedream. If you’re passionate about card magic, you have to see it to believe it.

False Deal Extravaganza - to complete this epic evening of magic beyond belief, Willy treated us all to an in-depth lesson on the art of false dealing, including practice secrets we’ve been waiting a lifetime to discover!

We take our cues from our CC Club Members - and they responded to this lecture (both parts) in ways we very rarely see! Watch and see for yourself!

Fred Roner

(Vienna, Austria: 9th March 1905 - New York, US: 14th December 1993)

Fred Roner, born Alfred Rosner in Vienna, was a professional card magician, who later performed a stage pickpocket act, and eventually became a painter. He was particularly known and lauded for his comedic style of card magic. His highlight as a stage pickpocket was to steal the watch of J. Edgar Hoover, the former director of the FBI. Most likely Roner got his start in pickpocketing from Walter Sealtiel, originally a Berlin card magician who gained success with one of the earliest stage pickpockets acts, who settled in The Netherlands, a country Roner spent a good amount of time in after his Jewish background did not afford him performance opportunities in Austria and Germany.

He was the inventor of the card-to-ballon effect which he created for his nightclub act, but Hamburg dealer Janos Bartl quickly sold an unlicensed version. Jerry Andrus included a move by Roner, called the Roner Change, in his Andrus Deals you In, which was later re-invented by Harry Lorayne.

(For more details on Roner see Richard Hatch's biographical article in You Too Are A Card Magician.)
